Question: Should practitioners of "natural" & "alternative" medicine be held to mainstream medical standards? What do you all think of people with little to no actual medical background working as naturopaths, homeopaths, etc. Should states regulate practices like herbalism and force a proof of competency before granting a license to practice? Contrary to popular belief, most herbalists, homeopaths and naturopaths have NO medical background. A recent study of colonics providers found that 85% of technicians performing this VERY invasive procedure have no medical training at all.
Answer: I am a Doctor of Naturopathy. I had to get my doctorate in Naturopathy before practicing. And take the boards. So I do have proof. You can't just go out and get a job in that field.
