Hector F. Myers, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology at UCLA, Professor ofPsychiatry at Drew University, and co-principal investigator of tworesearch projects in Los Angeles, said, "This is an exciting, newcollaborative effort--a true joint partnership--that will provide uswith the opportunity to conduct rigorous research focusing on minority,high-risk populations."

The Center for Natural Medicine and Prevention will also serve as atraining center for future researchers, including graduate students,postdoctoral fellows, and conventionally-trained physicians who willstudy the effectiveness of natural medicine approaches in the areas ofcardiovascular disease, minority aging and prevention of chronicdisease.

but i am not sure that i completely understand the emphasis on"minority"....i never knew that race had a large role in heart disease! (ofcourse, i dont know alot of things!)

i knew about sickle (sp?) cell anemia in african american health, but neverknew about heart disease.....

well, hope they come up with lots of info and preventative measures (for allof us!)
