I went to a holistic type Doctor in Atlanta Georgia named Ralph Lee totreat my suspected hypothyroid. He said I need an $800 blood test forfood allergy, candita, and mercury poisoning. He was shocked (!) tosee that I have amalgam fillings in my teeth. He also wants me to buya book he sells about food sensitivities. He got up and left when Ibalked. Not very professional.

I'm a big fan of scientific approaches. Any opinions on these typesof doctors and tratments?

Answer: I think that Holistic Doctors can be very beneficial. However, there arebad ones and good ones - just like there are good MDs and bad MDs.

I do suggest that everyone have skin testing for allergies. Check with yourinsurance and see an allergist for that. Allergies can really causeproblems that we would never associate with allergies. :)

You can be tested for Candida by an acupuncturist. I'm not sure what othertypes of tests there are for Candida. the thing to remember is thateveryone has it. It's when it becomes an overgrowth that the problemsbegin. But you can put yourself on an anticandida diet and take of it(sometimes it's hard to do, sometimes it's easy) without paying that kind ofmoney.

My acupuncturist also tested me for Mercury poisoning. I have only onefilling. He said that the mercury wasn't bothering me.

And any person who wants you to purchase their own product is a jerk anyway.

I believe that we can get ourselves healthy by using a wise combination ofboth science and knowledge of our own bodies. So by combining allopathicmedicine and holistic medicine, we may be able to strike the balance.
