Question: Holistic Health - Med school? Or is Diploma sufficient? To be a holistic health practitioner, do you need to have some sort of doctors degree or is the diploma sufficient? Australasia College of Health Sciences offers a diploma program to become a holistic health practitioner, but I dont know if i need med school before this as it deals with peoples heath, or since this is an alternative to modern medicine, if this diploma is sufficient?
Answer: Holistic medicine is not considered a medical degree. That diploma is sufficient to call yourself a practitioner of holistic medicine. However, keep in mind that you're not a real doctor - you can't write perscriptions and holistic medicine doesn't work in most cases. Often, it just makes people delay treatment for serious conditions. It's considered right down there with chiropracty and accupuncture. If you want to help people, get a nursing degree or an MD. If you want to rip them off and percribe candles, go for holistic medicine.
