Holistic Horse

Question:
We all knew this was coming. Top government animal health care professionals issue this warning.Cases of the Mad Horse Disease are found throughout the United Statesof America. Infected animals are found in barnyards, public events, horse shows, and nearly everywhere equines are found. The diseaseshows no mercy, and affects all breeds, sizes, types, and genders. From the smallest pony, to the largest draft horse, all are suspectible to infestation. If you are a horse owner beware of these symptoms. An infected horse will pin their ears back when they are angry. Some of these horses also exhibit a characteristic foot stomping along with the ear pinning. The worst cases will even kick or bite their handlers, or other horses. If your horse exhibits any of these signals, consider that your horse may be suffering from Mad Horse Disease. * THE SYMPTOMS - Ear Pinning, foot stomping, biting, kicking, and a general bad attitude. * THE TREATMENT - Treatment is difficult, the horse may require a complete attitude adjustment, and makeover. * WHO CAN HELP - Veterinarians may offer medications to temporarily relax the horse, but permanent care requires an equine psychologist. * FATALITY - This disease is rarely fatal, unless the affected horse attacks a larger alpha horse. There is hope for complete recovery, but it can be very costly, and takes considerable time and patience. Edward R. Samuelson EQN press author Dave... I think there is lots of money to be made as horse psychologists. Do you think one of the prerequisites would be to actually *like* horses? Maybe this is something else we can do at the ranch. Let me know what you think.

Answer: Well, not necessarily. Being able to control your gag reflx around them isimportant, but until you build up actual affection, we could run a sort of"good cop, bad cop" routine with the horses and give you the bad cop role.

This will actually work out well with your career as a nurse - the horseswill already be wary of your clean white uniform and sharp horse needlesfrom when you give them their injections. I will certainly forward this to Uncle Tex (so he can inspect his horsesagainst the disease) and arrange to discuss with him the establishment of aHolistic Horse Care center, featuring trained horse doctors, nurses, and adedicated staff of workers.
