Question: Well, I finally have found the courage to take the GA Bar Exam. Andthe brains to actually attend the Barbri prep classes in person.I do very well when I have other people around; I think there issomething to the 100th monkey, learning by osmosis bit. I graduated from Georgia State with a JD in 2/94 and tried to take the2/94 NC state bar exam after preparing by listening to prep tapes forabout a month and a half. Big Mistake. Too over-confident. not nearlyenough prep. Went into a nasty tailspin depression on discovering Ididn't pass. Couldn't bring myself to go to Raleigh to see how bad.(I know I passed the Multistate, I was certain of nearly all myanswers, but the essays shot me down badly. On three of them (out of12), I didn't have a clue where to begin and on another three, I wasjust treading water, citing generalisms with a clear itchy feelingthat there was a NC difference I was not remembering.) Anyway. I went back to Atlanta depressed and certain that WesternNorth Carolina was not where I was meant to be a lawyer. I threw awaythe idea of becoming a lawyer until this past November when I attendeda conference of the International Alliance of Holistic Lawyers -entitled 'The call of the Law'. Meeting a hundred or so lawyers whointend to work from their hearts (and minds) in their practices wasamazing and inspiring to me. So here I am giving it all another try.A bit late, but I am sincere in wanting to bring a holistic approachto the law, to be part of a shift where lawyers educate and empowertheir clients, rather than assume a g-dlike power over/for the client. Anyway. I 'll be heading off to class 5/27 -7/12 and taking the exam7/28 & 7/29. I know there are some excellently strong wishers andhopers here and I ask for your positive thoughts as I attend class(almost) every night after work and some weekends. And again as I takethe actual exam. I sincerely appreciate the help I know I willreceive.
Answer: I only WISH I had godlike powers over my clients. Half the time, I can't getthem to follow simple instructions. and I ask for your positive thoughts as I attend >class (almost) every nightafter work and some weekends. And >again as I take the actual exam. You got 'em. Study hard, try to stay as relaxed as you can.
