Question: Mercury is a dangerous metal it is in much of the fish here and my state hasset limits on how much fish a person should eat because of it. I do not think by pulling out a few fillings you will eliminate it. Mercury isin the environment and in the food chain. Even if you live miles from a coalfired power plant its there carried by the wind. In my city Lead poisoning is the leading cause of childhood environmentalsickness and the cause of many learning disabilities. They quoted a number ofchildren poisoned by lead here and it was way up in the thousands. That is because of the older housing stock here and all the lead paint andpipes still in them. You live in an older home? Then I personally would worry more about leadpoisoning. We here get our water from Lake Michigan. Who knows what has been dumped thereover the years? A lot I would imagine this was a major industrial city thetool box of the world at one time. Anyone have well service?Do you know what the person next door or in the next county is dumping on theirlawn or on their field? Dursban, PCBs, Mtbe gas additive, pesticides, herbicides, chromium, arsenicchemicals of all kinds.Who knows what this toxic stew is doing to us. I personally would not worry about a few tooth fillings while it may be truethey leach some mercury, I am sure many of us take in so many more chemicalsthat are also just as dangerous just by breathing or having a drink of waterfrom our kitchen tap. Face it we have screwed up this planet since the start of the industrialrevolution and now a lot of us may be paying for it. I hope fibromyalgia, CFS, cancer and others are all found to be caused byenvironmental factors maybe, just maybe it will be a wake up call for allpeople everywhere to clean up our act.
Answer: Not anti education just careful.I have done web searches on the Mercury Amalgam theory and from what I can seemany NOT ALL of those sites are selling something that they hail as a miraclecure or that will cleanse my body of it for a price usually a steep one. This sets off the red flags for me and tells me to use caution. It don't mean I will stop reading about it. I personally have never been one to follow or buy into anything blindly orwithout doing a lot of research and asking lots of questions. A lot of peopledo not like that aspect about me, Oh well too bad LOL In general I do believe in holistic medicine used in partnership withtraditional medicine but not as a replacement for traditional medicine. The use of herbs and plants is a tradition in my family one I am still learningto appreciate. Funny how you learn to appreciate your parents and their ways ofdoing things as you age yourself. I also believe Holistic medicine would be better accepted if holisticpractitioners would police their ranks better and do something about thepractitioners who prey on others for profit or self promotion. Then again that can be said for traditional Drs. too, but with holistic Drs.maybe even more so because of the bad press they have received over the yearsbecause of a few bad apples. I do know how hard it is for holistic practices to be accepted in the generalpublic from experience.
