Home remedies for ants in the house, have any?

Have a trail of ants coming in to house to the dog food. Can't use poison because of the dogs and cat.

Answer: Put Vaseline in the crack where they are coming in. They wont cross over it. I dont know if they dont like the smell or not...but it works. YOu can also try cayenne pepper. They dont like that either. I dont use poison in my house cuz my daughter has lung problems.This can be dangerous, but a little sprinkling of gasoline around the base of your house will keep them out. Ants will not go anywhere near petroleum based products because of the smell and it suffocates them. To be a little more on the LESS dangerous side, use a spray or powder form ant and insect killer!!
