any home remedies for curing a URINARY TRACT INFECTION with a high colony count of >10 of ECOLI BACTERIA? been on the various antibiotics for over 20 days now, but it is not going down as yet. NEED SOME URGENT

Answer: You need to have sensitivities done on your urine culture. that will tell the MD which antibiotic to use to treat your infection. You can also help prevent a kidney infection by drinking lots of water and cranberry juice.There is no home remedy. SInce it is ecoli be sure you wipe front to back after using the bathroom. I am not sure if you typed right but a colony count of greater than 10 is not high. Greater than 100 is what they consider starting to get high. Be sure to drink lots of fluids and drink plenty of cranberry juice. I would also consider seeing a urologist since your doc is not getting rid of the UTI.
