Question:
I am in the process of being diagnosed and almost everything else has beenruled out at this point. My Nuero. has taken what I feel is a veryaggressive stance, which I am not sure I'm comfortable with yet.I am having my first "real" episode now with pins and needles all on myleft side and my MRIs (brain and neck) were positive for plackets (sp?). Imay have had one very light episode last year that I just ignored becauseit went away so quick.My doctor is already talking about Betaseron or Avonex but said it was upto me. My initial feeling is that it's awelful fast to start on those drugsafter just one episode.Am I just in denial?

Answer: I know of a very good MS specialist in South Florida. She's a homeopathicdoctor who had MS, but claims not anymore. She practicrs in Melbourne,Florida (about a 3 hour drive north from Miami).

I'll tell you, I was on Avonex and steroids as well as Immunosuppresants(Imuran);all bad for the liver. In any case, I don't take them for about a week anda half. Today is 4/17/97, and I feel better than before. I'm beingdetoxifed.

The procedure that I'm undergoing is being conducted in Germany, Englandand France, to name a few European countries; all successfully. I don'tknow why teh US doesn't approve this method. It's all in the interest ofthe bllion-dollar pharmaceutical industry in this country.
