Question: Let's see, I had a severe case of the flu last week. I took aHOMEOPATHIC flu remedy for the first time (oscillococcinum). Afterabout a half an hour, I felt incredibly better, in fact much better thanafter taking antibiotics --which have been scientificallly PROVEN to beeffective. This certainly wasn't a placebo effect, because I've tried many other socalled alternative treatments--of which some worked and some didn't. It's just like anything else--what works for one person (whetherpharmaceutical, herbal, homeopathic, etc) may not not work for another. MORAL OF THE STORY: Let each person choose what is effective forthemselves!
Answer: It has been scientifically proven that antibiotics work againstbacteria, NOT against viruses, and since flu is caused by a virus, noantibiotic will have the slightest effect on it. It's not suprisingyou found a remedy which is better than antibiotics. What puzzles meis how you managed to treat flu with antibiotics as an experiment, since these are usually only issued on prescription, and doctors knowabout antibiotics and viruses.
