Question: Why has the use of alternative medicine become widespread? The use of alternative medicine (eg: acupuncture, reflexology) is becoming very widespread. Why might this be so?
Answer: Alternative medicine is cheaper, and that might be why people are flocking to it initially, but here's the reason they stay: It Works! Alternative medicine has few to no harmful side effects that western medicine has soo many of. Every time we turn around, another 100,000 people have died due to improper testing of harmful drugs. Also, in the case of, say, acupuncture, the Chinese have been using it for thousands of years. It is time-test proven to promote the whole well-being of the person, as well as helping and curing illness and ailments. I have seen many people, myself included come out of many health concerns through the use of alternative medicine (Just what I have personally seen includes: High blood pressure, Osteoperosis, Obesity, Depression, Hyper-active Thyroid, and Athlete's Foot.) The problem with western medicine is the fact that its entire basis is that only a drug or surgery can cure, prevent, or treat an illness. That is simply and totally not true. Many people are coming to realize this, and have chosen a healthier, longer-lasting solution.
